I wonder how many readers a blog needs to be worth it.

In spite of my efforts having cut out several hundred people I don’t know and never hear from my facebook friends list is still more than 950 strong. Each time I say something on facebook a fraction of those people see what I post. I am sadly limited to 420 characters but that is enough to get off the halfbaked scramble of notions I call an idea most of the time. On this blog I get to say a whole lot more (though I could just write a note on facebook) and people get to see it, but it will invariably be fewer people. The blog has the advantage of letting me see how many people read it each day (yesterday I literally got dozens of readers, and by that I mean 24, two dozen, two gets to be plural) and on facebook I don’t. How many readers do I need in order for this to be worth my while?
